Sprees Farm: Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern participation in the Sprees Farm Experiences ("the Experience"). By booking or participating in the Experience, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
The Experience provides visitors with the opportunity to meet, pet and, where permitted, feed a variety of farm animals under the guidance and supervision of Sprees Farm staff in a safe, educational and controlled environment.
Whilst every reasonable effort is made to ensure the safety of visitors and the welfare of our animals, participation involves inherent risks associated with interacting with live animals and visiting a working farm.
2. Animal Welfare and Availability
The welfare of our animals is our highest priority.
Animals available during the Experience may include, but are not limited to:
Gypsy Cob and Shire horses
Pygmy goats
Sheep
Kune Kune pigs
Highland cattle
Animal availability cannot be guaranteed and may vary due to welfare requirements, veterinary advice, weather conditions or operational needs. Sprees Farm Ltd reserves the right to alter, cancel or restrict any animal interaction where necessary.
3. Assumption of Risk
Visitors acknowledge that all animals, regardless of their temperament or training, are living creatures capable of unpredictable behaviour.
By participating, visitors understand and accept that animals may, without warning:
Move suddenly
Become startled
Push, lean against or nudge people
Bite or nip
Kick
Scratch
Head-butt
Step on feet
Knock a person off balance
React unexpectedly to noise, movement or environmental changes
These risks are inherent to interacting with animals and cannot be entirely eliminated.
Participation is entirely voluntary and undertaken at the visitor's own risk.
4. Visitor Responsibilities
All visitors agree to behave responsibly and follow instructions given by Sprees Farm staff at all times.
Visitors must:
Approach animals calmly and quietly.
Only interact with animals when invited or instructed by Sprees Farm staff.
Not touch, stroke or feed any animal unless expressly permitted and supervised by a member of Sprees Farm staff.
Treat all animals with kindness and respect.
Stroke animals gently when permitted.
Avoid touching sensitive areas such as eyes, mouths, tails or feet unless instructed.
Never chase, tease, frighten or deliberately disturb any animal.
Remain within designated visitor areas.
Follow all safety signage and verbal instructions.
Visitors acknowledge that animal interactions are supervised activities and that staff may restrict or stop interaction with any animal at any time for reasons relating to visitor safety or animal welfare.
Failure to comply with these requirements may result in removal from the Experience without refund.
5. Feeding Animals
Where feeding is permitted, visitors must only feed animals with the express permission and supervision of Sprees Farm staff.
Visitors agree that they will:
Only feed food supplied or approved by Sprees Farm Ltd.
Follow all staff instructions.
Feed animals carefully and calmly.
Keep fingers away from animals' mouths.
Never feed animals without permission or supervision.
Visitors acknowledge that animals may become excited around food and may move suddenly or compete for food.
6. Horse Safety
Horses are large animals that require particular care.
Visitors acknowledge that horses may:
Turn suddenly
Move unexpectedly
Stamp their feet
Pull away
Kick if frightened or uncomfortable
React to sudden movement or loud noise
Visitors must:
Only approach horses when instructed.
Stand where directed by staff.
Never stand directly behind a horse.
Never run, shout or make sudden movements near horses.
Never approach a horse without permission.
7. Children
Children are welcome to participate but must remain under the supervision of a responsible adult at all times.
Parents, guardians and accompanying adults are solely responsible for:
Supervising children in their care.
Ensuring children follow staff instructions.
Ensuring children do not touch, stroke or feed animals unless specifically permitted and supervised by a member of Sprees Farm staff.
Preventing children from climbing fences or entering restricted areas.
Ensuring children do not pick up animals unless specifically invited to do so.
Preventing children from placing their hands near animals' mouths.
Sprees Farm staff are not responsible for supervising children.
8. Health and Hygiene
Visitors acknowledge that farm animals naturally carry bacteria and other organisms which may cause illness.
Visitors agree to:
Wash their hands thoroughly after touching animals.
Wash their hands before eating or drinking.
Avoid touching their face during animal contact.
Follow all hygiene advice provided by staff.
Visitors should notify Sprees Farm staff before participating if they have any allergies, medical conditions or other health concerns that may affect their participation.
9. Clothing and Footwear
Visitors are responsible for wearing suitable clothing appropriate for a working farm environment.
Suitable clothing includes:
Closed-toe footwear.
Clothing appropriate for outdoor weather conditions.
Clothing suitable for uneven, muddy or dusty ground.
Visitors participate at their own risk if unsuitable footwear or clothing is worn.
10. Animal Welfare
Visitors must treat all animals with respect and must not deliberately cause distress, discomfort or harm.
Sprees Farm Ltd reserves the right to immediately end any visitor's participation where their behaviour is considered unsafe, inappropriate or detrimental to animal welfare.
11. Safety and Staff Instructions
Visitors agree to comply immediately with all instructions provided by Sprees Farm staff.
For the safety of visitors and animals, Sprees Farm Ltd reserves the right to:
Suspend or modify activities.
Restrict access to certain animals.
Remove visitors from the Experience.
Close areas of the farm.
Cancel or amend activities due to weather, operational requirements or animal welfare considerations.
12. Personal Responsibility
Each visitor accepts responsibility for their own conduct during the Experience.
Visitors acknowledge that their behaviour directly affects both their own safety and the welfare of the animals.
Parents and guardians remain responsible for all children accompanying them.
13. Liability
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits the liability of Sprees Farm Ltd for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.
Subject to the above, Sprees Farm Ltd shall not be liable for injury, loss or damage arising from the ordinary and inherent risks associated with participating in a petting farm experience where visitors have been provided with appropriate instructions and safety guidance.
Visitors are responsible for following all instructions and exercising reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of those in their care.
14. Acceptance of Terms
By booking or participating in the Sprees Farm Experience,s visitors confirm that they:
Have read and understood these Terms and Conditions.
Understand the inherent risks associated with interacting with farm animals.
Agree to comply with all instructions given by Sprees Farm staff.
Accept responsibility for their own conduct and for supervising any children accompanying them.
Voluntarily choose to participate in the Experience.
Where a participant is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms and Conditions on their behalf.
15. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with the Petting Farm Experience shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
